Lawrence Olusoji Omotayo, an author and educator, was born at Agboyi in Lagos State of Nigeria. He attended Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, and obtained a B.A. (Hons.) Degree in English Studies in 1995.
He writes short stories and children's books which are influenced by his cultural background in African folklore, myths, and politics. His short stay in Canada also play an important role in his quest for inclusivity and multiculturalism.
His writings, using relatable characters, are compelling. His students are fond of identifying him as their special English teacher, and the writer of The Monster by the Riverside.
He spends his free time watching movies, soccer, reading, having video chats with his grandchildren, and taking active part in preaching activities.
